TYPES OF BELT
FHP Light Duty V-Belts
Durapower II V-belts are made from ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), a durable synthetic rubber that is heat-resistant, static-conductive, and resistant to caking and vitrification. They combine the advantages of EPDM, raw edge technology, and exclusive CNA construction for superior performance and efficiency. A heavyweight in the HVACR and light-duty V-belt sectors, Durapower II belts reduce maintenance and downtime with a more efficient and durable belt.
Applications: Fractional Horsepower Motors, HVACR, Light Machinery, Blowers and Fans
Synchronous belts
Synchronous (timing) belts are toothed belts in which power is transmitted through positive engagement between the belt teeth and a sprocket (pulley). This positive engagement allows for precise shaft synchronization, eliminating the slippage and loss of speed characteristic of V-belts.
Trapezoidal, curved, or modified curved teeth mesh with corresponding sprocket grooves to provide positive power transmission in high-torque applications, both at high and low speeds. A synchronous belt requires no retensioning, improves energy efficiency, and reduces downtime.
Compared to chains, synchronous belts are more compact, lighter, quieter, do not require lubrication, and operate at higher speeds.
Timken synchronous drive systems offer quiet, efficient, and maintenance-free operation.
Belts with bands
Belts are two or more V-belts (ribbed) joined together to form a single unit. They are an excellent solution for problematic transmissions with long center distances or with pulsating and high-impact loads, where individual belts vibrate, twist, or slip off the pulleys.
Timken V-belts are available in classic (B, C, D) and narrow (3V, 5V, 8V) cross sections in either wrapped or cogged constructions. The highly engineered bonding band on the top permanently joins the individual V-belts, allowing them to operate as a single unit with even load and wear distribution. Stability is improved by preventing belt whiplash and rotation.
Heavy-duty industrial V-belts
You can rely on Timken belts for a wide range of applications. We offer the right belt for virtually any job. Timken belts are specifically designed for optimal performance in the most demanding applications. They are resistant to stretching, heat, oil, chemicals, ozone, and static dissipation.
Applications: Pumps, Mixers, Oilfields, Construction, Variable Speed Drives, Blowers, Machinery and Tools, Industrial Dryers
Cooling belts for transport
When transporting cargo that relies on a temperature-controlled environment, belt failure is not an option. Timken designs the performance of every belt through special engineering, material compounds, processes, and rigorous testing.
Agricultural belts
Avoid downtime with premium Super Ag-Drive belts for agricultural applications. Timken Belts offers a complete line of combine belts, designed for performance and reliability that meet or exceed original equipment specifications.
